"The sky has always held a special fascination for me. As a child, I spent hours daydreaming and watching the play of light and clouds move across the sky. I still retain that same sense of awe and wonder today. As a New Englander, I can hardly ignore the weather. We have  wonderfully dynamic weather patterns in this part of the country; the skies are always changing. And, I have always felt a strong connection with the natural world, therefore, working with sky is a perfect fit for me."

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Scott spent her early childhood on Long Island before her family moved to the country in Connecticut. Some of her earliest memories revolve around drawing and creating her own worlds on paper. Scott took a non-traditional road in her early life, exploring her creativity without formal training. However, in the  late 80s she made a decision to fully commit to and focus on her art.

Scott enrolled in the Art Education Program at Central Connecticut State University, where she  planned to  become an Art Educator. As she began her serious art studies, she dropped the education program to focus solely on art making. Scott took additional electives in studio arts, art history, and added several self-directed independent study courses as well. She graduated Summa cum laude, with a BA in Painting and Art History. Today, Scott works as a visual artist from her home studio in Cheshire, Connecticut.

In  2006, after  exploring a variety of  subjects and  themes, Scott decided to focus on sky, creating an ongoing body of work  she calls “The Weather Project", which fuses her interests in art, nature, and science. Seeing endless possibilities in her chosen subject, Scott continues to fine-tune her focus on the sky and explores and exposes our relationship to it. "People ask me if I feel limited by my focus on sky. I have found that in focusing  so completely on one area I have not limited myself but set up a situation in which I am  constantly discovering  more and more material that can be explored and interpreted in a variety of ways. My only dilemma is deciding which aspect to address next. It's a very exciting process."

She is a current member of Connecticut Women Artists, the Kent Art Association, and Artists in Real Time. Scott's work is represented on the ArtSpace New Haven CWOS Artists Registry. She has also been associated with the Canton Artists’ Guild, Artwell Gallery and Womens Caucus for Art.

Scott has exhibited widely in group and one woman shows in galleries and venues throughout Connecticut and across the country. Her work is in numerous corporate and private collections. Scott is the  former owner and gallery director of Small Walls Gallery in Hartford and has worked as an art consultant in the Greater Hartford area. In addition to her work as a visual artist, Scott is an independent curator, creative coach, and publicist, specializing in work with artists, art organizations, visionaries and creatives.
